Overview

The Lindy HDMI® 18G Signal Generator & Display Emulator is an essential tool for AV installers and system integrators, to test and emulate HDMI® signals. This portable device provides 4 EDID HDMI® resolutions: 4K@60Hz 4:4:4, 4K@60Hz 4:2:0, 4K@30Hz 4:4:4, or 1080p@60Hz. The selection can be done by pushing the EDID button on one side of the unit.

Connecting as display emulator, the unit can detect the HDCP content and signal status (5V, TMDS); 4 different patterns show HDCP status while LEDs help the user selecting the desired choice.
No software or additional cables is needed, it can be connected directly to a source or display via HDMI® male connectors.

The unit is felf-powered from the HDMI® source when used as display emulator, while an external USB power supply is required when it's connected as signal generator.

With a extremely compact and portable design, this device can be easily added to any AV installers testing kit, perfect for on-the-go installers in both small home setups or larger scale professional installations.

Bandwidth:Bandwidth is the difference between the upper and lower frequencies in a continuous set of frequencies. It is typically measured in Hertz (Hz). A key characteristic of bandwidth is that any band of a given width can carry the same amount of information, regardless of where that band is located in the frequency spectrum. For example, a 3 kHz band can carry a telephone conversation whether that band is at baseband (as in a POTS telephone line) or modulated to some higher frequency.

USB port:Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an industry standard developed in the mid-1990s that defines the cables, connectors and communications protocols used in a bus for connection, communication, and power supply between computers and electronic devices. USB was designed to standardize the connection of computer peripherals (including keyboards, pointing devices, digital cameras, printers, portable media players, disk drives and network adapters) to personal computers, both to communicate and to supply electric power. It has become commonplace on other devices, such as smartphones, PDAs and video game consoles. USB has effectively replaced a variety of earlier interfaces, such as serial and parallel ports, as well as separate power chargers for portable devices.
