Overview

The CE700A is a USB KVM Extender with superior video quality and built-in ESD and surge protection that allows access to a computer system up to 150 meters away from a remote USB console (USB keyboard, monitor, and USB mouse).

The CE700A improves on previous designs by: 1) incorporating 8KV/15KV ESD protection and 2KV surge protection; 2) providing superior video quality - up to 1920 x 1200 resolution; 3) using inexpensive Cat 5e cable, instead of bulkier, more expensive, standard cables, for a much neater, more convenient, more reliable data transfer connection; 4) it is able to sense the distance to the system and automatically adjusts the gain accordingly; and 5) it features a custom ASIC to ensure the utmost in reliability and compatibility.

At-a-glance

  • * The EDID data for a widescreen is sent from the local video output port. For widescreen modes and displays connect the monitor to the local video output port or use an ATEN EDID emulator.

  • Auto Signal Compensation (ASC)

  • Automatic gain control - adjusts signal strength to compensate for distance

  • Built-in 8KV/15KV ESD protection (Contact voltage 8KV; Air voltage 15KV) and 2KV surge protection

  • Built-in ASIC for greater reliability and compatibility

  • Cat 5e cable connects the Local and Remote Units - up to 150m apart

  • Dual console operation - control your system from both the local and remote USB keyboard, monitor, and mouse consoles

  • High resolution video - up to 1920 x 1200@60Hz (30m ); 1600 x 1200@60Hz (100m); 1280 x 1024@60Hz (150m)

  • Multiplatform support - Windows, Linux

  • Pushbutton operating mode selection (Local Unit only) - select between Local and Auto operating modes.

  • Rack mountableEasy to install - no software required - connecting cables to the devices is all it takes

  • Supports VGA, SVGA, SXGA, UXGA, WUXGA and multisyncmonitors; local monitor supports DDC; DDC2; DDC2B

  • Supports Wide Screen formats *

  • USB Keyboard and USB Mouse Ports

  • USB overcurrent detection and prevention

Ports & interfaces
RS-232 ports:The number of sockets (ports) for RS-232. An RS-232 serial port was once a standard feature of a personal computer, used for connections to modems, printers, mice, data storage, uninterruptible power supplies, and other peripheral devices. Now it has been largely replaced by USB and other ports.
0
PS/2 ports quantity:The number of PS/2 connectors for keyboards and mice. Its name comes from the IBM Personal System/2.
0
USB 2.0 ports quantity:Number of USB 2.0 ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. USB 2.0 was released in April 2000 (now called "Hi-Speed"), adding higher maximum signaling rate of 480 Mbit/s (effective throughput up to 35 MB/s or 280 Mbit/s), USB 2.0 ports are usually black.
2
DVI-I ports quantity:This is the amount of DVI-I interfaces. Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is a video display interface developed by the Digital Display Working Group (DDWG). The digital interface is used to connect a video source to a display device, such as a computer monitor. DVI-I is DVI integrated, which means it can support digital and analog.
0
DVI-D ports quantity:This is the amount of DVI-I interfaces. Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is a video display interface developed by the Digital Display Working Group (DDWG). The digital interface is used to connect a video source to a display device, such as a computer monitor. DVI-D means DVI digital, which means it can only support digital, but not analog.
0
VGA (D-Sub) ports quantity:Number of VGA (D-Sub) ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. The VGA (D-Sub) connector is a 15 pin connector between a computer and a monitor. It was first introduced in 1987 by IBM.
