PT-MZ882 Series: Advancing Eco-friendly Innovation
Sustainability is a big consideration for businesses and schools. Acquisition managers want to invest in systems that contribute to the organization’s sustainability goals by choosing efficient AV tech that minimizes waste. The PT-MZ882 Series reduces impact throughout the projector’s lifecycle, from procurement and manufacturing to transport, installation, usage, and disposal. It represents a significant step towards sustainability without sacrificing performance. In fact, the picture is brighter, operating noise is reduced, and usability is enhanced.

Projector Body Utilizes Recycled Materials
The PT-MZ882 Series’s sustainability story begins before you take delivery. In addition to using responsibly procured materials, the main projector body contains about 10%1 recycled resins, reducing the utilization of virgin materials. By supporting eco-friendly manufacturing processes and pursuing recycling-based programs at end-of-life, your organization helps minimize environmental impact during operation and throughout the product’s lifecycle.

Enhanced Brightness with Lower Consumption
Refinements to the optical engine yield higher brightness over every model in the previous series while significantly enhancing energy efficiency. The PT-MZ882, for example, produces 8,200 lm1 with a max. consumption of 465 W compared to 8,000 lm1 at 490 W for the previous PT-MZ880 model, achieving a rating of 17.6 lm/W and an 8% efficiency improvement. Save on energy costs and reduce the carbon footprint of every unit in your fleet.

Auto Power On Function Saves Wasted Energy
Like your PC, Panasonic projectors “sleep” after a certain idle period and shut down when this Quick Startup period expires to save energy. If playback resumes after the Quick Startup period elapses, you must manually power on the projector again. To avoid this, some users disable the Quick Startup timer or keep the projector running with the shutter on, wasting energy. PT-MZ882 Series solves the issue with Auto Power On. This new function powers the projector on and resumes playback automatically when an input signal is detected, even if the unit is shut down. Presenters can pause and resume their program without significant interruption, and administrators reap energy savings across their schools or businesses.

Lamp-free Laser Saves Resources and Waste
PT-MZ882 Series features a SOLID SHINE Laser light source that does not require maintenance until 20,000 hours1. By contrast, comparable lamp projectors need several lamp changes in an equivalent period, adding to maintenance costs, labor, downtime, and waste. Furthermore, laser projectors start up faster and can be switched off via the room breaker. They reach full brightness almost instantly, maintain a consistent and uniform image for longer, and are inherently more reliable than lamp-based designs.

Less Maintenance, Less Waste, Less Downtime
ECO Filter includes a Micro-Cut Filter that collects minute dust particles with an electrostatic effect. With the dust-resistant projector cabinet design, ECO Filter enables low maintenance and long-term use with less downtime. Filter replacement is recommended at 20,000 hours1 when used in typical office and classroom environments. If it’s necessary to maintain the filter before then, it can be washed and reused up to two times2, reducing wastage, cost, and labor.

Multi-Laser Drive Engine Enhances Reliability
Multi-Laser Drive Engine ensures stable projection in the unlikely event that light-source problems occur. PT-MZ882 Series is equipped with multiple modules consisting of many laser diodes. If one of the elements malfunctions, Failover Circuitry is activated so that projection can continue with minimal brightness reduction. This gives your presenters the confidence to work without fear of equipment failure in the middle of a presentation.

Outstanding Image Quality in Well-Lit Spaces
Office and classroom projectors are normally used with the room lights on, so they need high brightness, powerful contrast, and accurate color to cut through with a clearly visible image. The PT-MZ882 Series has a refined optical engine that boosts light output over the previous series, Digital Light Control to optimize Dynamic Contrast performance, and Daylight View Basic to adjust image quality according to ambient room light. The result is well-balanced brightness and color with sharp and comfortable visibility, even in well-lit environments.

High 3,000,000:11 Dynamic Contrast
Input signals are analyzed frame by frame to regulate light output for the best contrast performance in every scene. In addition to accurately reproducing complex images that contain a mix of dark and bright hues, Dynamic Contrast is more energy efficient than previous technologies. The projector’s high 3,000,000:11 contrast ratio enhances detail definition in shadows with deeper blacks, brighter whites, and more natural skin tones for an improved sense of depth and definition.

Daylight View Basic: Brilliant in Bright Rooms
Daylight View Basic is a dynamic adjustment technology that enhances image sharpness by clarifying detail definition in dark areas of the picture, which can be difficult to see in bright light. A sensor measures the ambient light in the room and optimizes sharpness, halftone color, contrast, and brightness for best results according to the room’s illumination.

Detail Clarity Processor 4 Enhances Detail Definition
Unique image correction circuitry reproduces details more clearly and sharply. It analyzes video signal frequencies in each scene and adjusts for optimal sharpness based on information extracted from the signal. Compared to conventional image processing technology, this system reproduces images with an even more natural and dimensional feel and also works to sharpen text edges for more comfortable legibility.

Project Widescreen Content
Widescreen conferencing software layouts can be output from a PC to a PT-MZ882 Series projector so that remote participants appear along the bottom of the screen at eye level to those seated in the room, improving communication fluency. This capability is also useful for projecting documents side by side or screening cinematic content. The PT-MZ882 Series supports 1920 x 810 (21:9) or 1920 x 640 (27:9) signals.

Quiet Operation Increases Engagement
With lessons, meetings, and other events often including remote participants, projector noise mustn’t distract from the presentation. Quiet projection helps people focus, whether in the room or participating remotely. PT-MZ882 Series includes a Quiet Mode enabling whisper-quiet 25 dB1 operation, helping these stylish projectors blend unobtrusively into the background to keep attention focused on the presentation.

Optional Powered Lenses Adapt Projection to Your Space
PT-MZ882 Series ships with the ET-ELS20 (1.61–2.76:1) powered zoom lens and is compatible with six other optional lenses. Powered V/H lens-shift (V: ±67%, H: ±35%), zoom, and focus adjustment are supported via the remote control or Smart Projector Control app. The lineup of optional lenses includes the ET-ELU20 Ultra-Short-Throw Zoom Lens (0.330–0.353:1). This lens projects content without offset at the top and bottom of the image, making the PT-MZ882 Series a cost-effective solution for museums and Location-Based Entertainment (LBE) applications.

Smart Projector Control App Makes Your Life Easy
The free Smart Projector Control app1 simplifies projector setup and operation. You can control up to 64 projectors simultaneously and adjust settings without needing to project the OSD settings menu. You can also select test patterns, adjust lens settings via the new lens-control UI, lock brightness, and perform focus adjustment using your smartphone camera2 from distances up to 30 m (98 ft)3. For more information, visit the Smart Projector Control webpage.

Built-in Geometric Adjustment Functions
Geometric Adjustment is a suite of built-in functions that allow installers to correct distortion when images are projected at an angle or onto curved screens and irregular shapes. Correction extends to spherical, cylindrical, and complex screen shapes without needing a connected PC. Maintain Aspect Ratio and Independent Corner Adjustment simplify correction. At the same time, the ability to save image-adjustment data is useful whenever correction settings need to be disabled and reapplied and for saving work progress as an adjustment profile is created.

Compatible with Geometry Manager Pro Software
Geo Pro simplifies geometric, blending, and color uniformity adjustments, streamlining your multi-screen calibration workflow. The software expands built-in geometric and multi-screen adjustment capabilities with a Free Grid function that governs 4-corner adjustment, keystone correction, curved-screen correction, and free-form image correction via a user-friendly interface. Software-based tools for multi-screen calibration include color matching, brightness control, color uniformity, black level, and input-signal adjustment.

Contrast Sync and Shutter Sync
Contrast Sync unifies Dynamic Contrast values among multiple projectors connected via serial in/out terminals. This function increases the uniformity of images in a multi-screen system and reduces edge-blend visibility for a seamless widescreen image. Shutter Sync, meanwhile, synchronizes shutter on/off timing for immersive fade-in/fade-out effects.

Data Cloning Function
The data cloning function allows users to copy settings and save adjustment values from a main projector to sub projectors via LAN. This function reduces the time and effort required when setting up multiple projectors.

Easily View the Projection Angle
PT-MZ882 Series features a gyro sensor that detects changes to the projector’s body pitch and roll angles and displays the information graphically in the OSD settings menu. Installers no longer need assistance to check the projection angle as the body is adjusted. They can view the on-screen graphic and adjust the projector angle before securing the unit.

Integrates with Your 4K Audio-Visual System
PT-MZ882 Series accepts 4K input signals via HDMI™ and DIGITAL LINK connections. This is handy if you plan to distribute 4K content from a PC to various display endpoints with different screen resolutions. You don’t need to manually reencode the video content to suit this projector series or use an external video converter, reducing system complexity.

Three HDMI™ Inputs Support CEC Commands
All three HDMI™ inputs are compatible with control signals sent via a CEC-command-compatible component, giving you limited control over the projector using the compatible source device’s remote control. When connected to the projector via HDMI™, the projectors power up from Standby and commence playback automatically on command from a CEC-compatible player, such as the optional Wireless Presentation System PressIT.

Single-Cable DIGITAL LINK Connection for AV and Control Signals
Based on HDBaseT™ technology, DIGITAL LINK can transmit video and control commands through a single CAT 5e or higher STP cable for distances up to 150 m (492 ft). An optional ET-YFB200G Digital Interface Box further streamlines installation.

Works with Wireless Presentation System PressIT
Share your screen wirelessly and switch presenters freely. PressIT is Panasonic’s optional Wireless Presentation System that allows easy screen sharing with the press of a button. PressIT comprises a receiver connected to the projector and transmitters connected to PCs or mobile devices. Securing power from your PT-MZ882 Series projector, which supports a 5 V/2 A power supply via DC OUT terminal, achieves a neat, stylish layout. Learn more about PressIT here or visit our Wireless Solutions webpage.

Remote Control Lock Function
